Tragedy struck a music concert held in Goregaon, Mumbai, on April 11, resulting in the deaths of two MBA students. The victims, both in their early twenties, reportedly consumed ecstasy tablets before and during the event. They began experiencing distress and were taken to separate hospitals, where they passed away on April 12.
In response to the incident, police arrested five individuals. Among those apprehended are two fellow MBA students accused of supplying the suspected drugs to the deceased. Additionally, three people associated with the concert's organization, including a senior manager from the venue, were arrested for failing to implement adequate safety measures that would prevent drugs from entering the premises.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Autopsies are being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
