Mumbai Bikers' Stunts Lead to Police Chase

Vakola police have registered a case against 12 motorcyclists for performing stunts and driving recklessly on the Agripada Bridge in Santacruz (East) on Tuesday, March 17th. The incident unfolded after the police control room received information about numerous motorcyclists speeding on the northbound Western Express Highway.
Upon establishing a nakabandi at the Agripada Bridge ascent, police observed approximately 50 to 60 motorcyclists approaching at high velocity. Several bikers attempted to evade the police checkpoint by accelerating or taking alternative routes. During the evasion attempt, one motorcyclist allegedly tried to run over Constable Satish Todankar.
This individual then crossed the divider, abandoned his motorcycle, and escaped by riding pillion on another bike. The abandoned motorcycle was seized by the authorities. Following an investigation, Salman Shaikh, 20, was detained. He confessed that he and a group of friends had gathered in Goregaon before riding towards the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, engaging in stunts and dangerous maneuvers.
