- The accused allegedly sought sexual favors from the victim.
- The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Bandra.
In Mumbai's Bandra area, a 31-year-old man named Chirag Hargunani was apprehended by police for allegedly kidnapping an individual and demanding sexual favors. Hargunani, who was reportedly inebriated, was driving a luxury Audi when he approached two men on a motorcycle, seeking directions to a park.
He then persuaded one of the men, Mohammad Taabish Shoeb Kutty, to enter his car to help him navigate. However, Hargunani proceeded to abduct Kutty and subsequently made unwelcome sexual advances. When Kutty resisted and requested to be released, Hargunani subjected him to an assault.
Kutty, in a desperate act, managed to remove the car keys, bringing the vehicle to a halt. This enabled his escape and subsequent reporting of the crime to the authorities. Hargunani was arrested by the Bandra police under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for kidnapping and other offenses.
