Summary
- Mum and son charged with GBH after alleged revenge attack.
- Incident occurred weeks after Archie Battersbee's death.
- Complainant sustained fractured shoulder and other injuries.

Hollie Dance, mother of the late Archie Battersbee, and her son Thomas Summers have appeared in court facing serious charges related to an alleged "revenge" attack. The incident, which took place in October 2022, involved the pair allegedly chasing a motorist between Southend and Basildon in Essex.
Prosecutors claim Hollie Dance used her vehicle to force the complainant's car into a tree, with Thomas Summers then allegedly pushing the vehicle into a bush. The complainant suffered a fractured and dislocated shoulder, requiring surgery, along with other injuries. A baseball bat was allegedly used, and a canister with Hollie Dance's DNA was found.
The alleged attack occurred weeks after the death of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee, who died following a lengthy legal battle over his life support. Hollie Dance denies chasing the car, stating she was attempting to get a driver who had aggressively overtaken and hit her vehicle to pull over.
Summers and another individual, Rhys Bentley, also face charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray. All defendants have pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
