Mum Cleared of Drink Driving, Now Assaults Elderly Woman
22 Mar
Summary
- Mum claimed medical condition made breathalysers inaccurate.
- Previously cleared of high-range drink driving charges.
- Now faces assault charges on an elderly woman.

A mother, who previously made headlines for being cleared of high-range drink-driving by claiming a medical condition caused inaccurate breathalyser readings, is now facing assault charges. Late last year, she was charged under her maiden name with common assault related to domestic violence, accused of assaulting a 76-year-old woman in Northbridge on December 18, 2025. She pleaded not guilty to this charge in January 2026.
This follows a prior incident on August 29, 2025, where she crashed her Mercedes-Benz in Northbridge while under the influence of cannabis. She pleaded guilty in February 2026 to negligent driving, failing to submit to a breath test, and driving with an illicit drug in her system. Her lawyer has disputed certain details in the police statement of facts, particularly regarding the alleged high blood alcohol reading, citing gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) as a cause for false readings. She is scheduled to return to court for driving offences in July 2026 and for the assault charge in May 2026.
