- Brother-in-law died at the scene of the September 2023 collision.
- Driver faces jail and possible lifetime driving ban.

A motorcyclist, Lewis Baker, is awaiting sentencing for dangerous driving following a fatal collision that occurred on September 9, 2023. The incident involved Baker and his brother-in-law, Jason Wallis, both riding Yamaha R1 bikes at speeds reportedly between 130mph and 150mph. The trial heard that the two men crashed into the back of a car on the A421 dual carriageway near Buckingham. Tragically, Wallis died at the scene, while Baker sustained a broken thigh bone. Baker, from Milton Keynes, has been acquitted of causing death by dangerous driving but pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. Judge Jonathan Cooper described Baker's riding as a "complete horror." The judge also noted that Wallis, also from Milton Keynes, contributed significantly to his own death. Sentencing is scheduled for July 1, with the judge indicating a strong likelihood of imprisonment and a careful consideration of imposing a lifetime driving ban. Baker, who has no prior convictions, has been released on bail with the condition that he refrain from driving or riding on public roads. Footage from a GoPro camera attached to Baker's body was presented as evidence during the trial, showing the journey and Wallis's crash. Evidence suggested the men were "drag racing," and the prosecution argued Baker's dangerous riding contributed to Wallis's death. However, the defense argued there was "no racing," though Baker rode "like a lunatic." Wallis's widow, Nikki, who is Baker's sister, testified that her husband was an experienced but sometimes reckless rider, describing him as "an accident waiting to happen."
