A woman and her young son have tragically lost their lives after allegedly jumping into a well in Maharashtra's Beed district on Wednesday. The incident took place in Darade Vasti, near Limbarui village, where the 23-year-old mother, identified as Prajakta Rameshwar Darade, and her son Vedant, aged three-and-a-half, were found.
Concerned family members initiated a search when the pair did not return home. They discovered Prajakta's body in the well around noon. Due to the significant water level, the child's body could not be immediately located. The administration employed electric pumps to drain the well.
Late Wednesday night, after hours of pumping, the body of the young boy was recovered from the bottom of the well. Both bodies were subsequently sent for post-mortem examinations. Police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this extreme step.
