Summary

- Boy's father allegedly confessed to burying him in the yard.
- Loved ones rally for answers about systemic failures.

A mother has publicly stated that the system failed her young son, Aiden Bevins, whose body was discovered buried at a home in Aberdeen. Amanda Lynn Servellon, Aiden's mother, revealed she had been in prison and could not locate her son after her release. She last saw him in December 2023.
Servellon alleged that Aiden was supposed to be with his father, Jacob Bevins, but he claimed the boy was with an aunt in Idaho. This claim was investigated and found to be untrue. Servellon recounted that Jacob Bevins later admitted to officers that he had buried their son in the yard approximately a year before the discovery.
Jacob Bevins is now charged with homicide by abuse, assault of a child, failure to notify the coroner of human remains, and making false statements. Servellon expressed disbelief, stating he was abusive to her but never to the children. She also noted their older child was emaciated and unschooled when she was reunited with her, questioning how the severe neglect went unnoticed.
On Saturday, Servellon and other supporters gathered in Olympia to demand accountability and explore preventative measures for child protection failures.
