A woman found dead in a Langley Park parking lot earlier this week has been identified as Maury Carias Garcia, a 29-year-old mother. Prince George's County Police responded to a welfare check at the Dollar General on University Boulevard on Wednesday.
Garcia was reported missing on Tuesday morning. Preliminary findings indicate she was murdered inside her red Honda SUV on Monday night around 10:15 p.m. The vehicle matched the description of Garcia's missing car.
Detectives identified a person of interest in connection with Garcia's death. This individual was discovered deceased in his home Tuesday morning, with indications pointing to suicide. Police confirmed that the person of interest knew the victim.
Surveillance footage shows a man appearing to interact with Garcia's SUV as it moved and then crashed into a tree on Monday night. Further video captured a man parking the SUV inconspicuously before leaving in another vehicle. Police are investigating if this man is the identified person of interest.
