On November 2, 2025, a shocking incident occurred in Chinnatti village, Krishnagiri, where a 5-month-old baby boy was murdered by his mother, S Bharathi, and her lesbian partner, Sumithra. The Kelamangalam police exhumed the baby's body on November 4, 2025, in the presence of revenue department officials, and a spot postmortem was carried out by forensic medicine doctors.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Bharathi, aged 25, suffocated her son to death based on the instructions of Sumithra, aged 22. After the murder, Bharathi made her family members believe that her son died from suffocation, and the body was buried. However, the husband, Suresh, raised suspicion over his son's death, prompting the police to register a case and arrest the duo.
During the inquiry, Bharathi and Sumithra confessed to the crime. The police have taken the necessary legal actions against the couple for the heinous act.
