Mum-of-Two Dies After Botched Liposuction in Peru

A healthy 32-year-old mother of two has died following a liposuction procedure. Rebeca Llacho Cahuana passed away after complications arose during the surgery, which took place on Friday, April 17th. She had reportedly passed all medical tests prior to the operation.
Following the complications, Rebeca was transported to a public hospital where her death was confirmed. The surgeon involved, José David Molina Barreto, is reportedly not registered as a plastic surgery specialist and is now under investigation for manslaughter.
The clinic where the procedure was performed, Clínica Florez Salud, was allegedly only licensed as a consultation center, not a surgical facility. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and the surgeon has not yet been located by police. Rebeca is survived by her two young children.
