Christina Harvey, 50, faces serious charges including involuntary manslaughter, neglect of a care-dependent person, and endangering the welfare of a child. Dickson City police were called to her residence on December 10, 2025, where they found her 18-year-old daughter, Brandy Harvey, unresponsive. The home was found in a state of extreme filth. Brandy, who had been severely disabled since infancy, was discovered lying on a soiled couch without adequate care or medical treatment. She was transported to a hospital, where she died the following day. The county coroner determined the cause of death to be neglect, ruling it a homicide. An autopsy revealed severe ulcers, dental disease, and necrosis of the feet. Harvey allegedly had not sent her daughter to school since May 2025, citing difficulties with hygiene. Investigators also uncovered that Brandy Harvey received significant Social Security and survivor's benefits between 2013 and 2025. Despite these funds, Christina Harvey, who was her daughter's payee, is accused of withholding necessary medical care and supplies, instead using the money for personal expenses. Harvey stated her daughter was her "whole world" and she "tried her very best." The residence was partially condemned due to its unfit condition.
