Summary

- The children died of knife wounds in their Bristol home.
- The mother will plead guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
A mother is anticipated to enter guilty pleas for the killing of her three young children. The tragic incident occurred at their home in Sea Mills, Bristol, on February 18, 2024. The victims were identified as seven-year-old Fares Bash, three-year-old Joury Bash, and nine-month-old Mohammed Bash.
Yasmeen Ali, aged 44, is expected to formally plead guilty to the manslaughter of the three children by reason of diminished responsibility. She will also plead guilty to the infanticide of her nine-month-old son. An inquest had previously revealed that the children died from knife wounds.
Prosecution counsel indicated that two psychiatric reports have been obtained, both suggesting that the defense of diminished responsibility is available to Ms. Ali. The defense anticipates that these guilty pleas will be entered at the next hearing on October 23, effectively concluding the case. Ms. Ali is currently being held in a secure psychiatric hospital.
