Mom Accused of Murder Hired Casey Anthony's Lawyer

Corie Walsh, 40, faces charges for allegedly murdering her 2-year-old son on September 1 at her Frankfort, Illinois home. Her defense attorney, Andrea Lyon, has a notable history, having previously led the defense for Casey Anthony. Walsh's case bears similarities to the ongoing Lindsay Clancy trial, with both victims discovered in the basement and the accused mothers attempting self-harm afterward.

Investigators reported that Walsh had recently expressed significant interest in the Lindsay Clancy case, discussing it hours before her son's death. A neighbor discovered the toddler deceased and found Walsh in the process of self-inflicted injury. Police stated that upon arrival, Walsh admitted to the killing, referring to her son as the "devil." Her 8-month-old child was unharmed, and her two older children were not present during the incident. Lyon stated that her client was experiencing a psychotic episode and denied any copycat connection to the Clancy case.
