Counter-terrorism officers have arrested three more individuals in connection with an arson attack on Peacehaven Mosque in East Sussex.
A 36-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. This arrest was made by Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), supported by Sussex Police's major crime unit.
On the same day, a 38-year-old man from Brighton and a 42-year-old man from Saltdean were arrested on suspicion of malicious communications. These arrests stem from an incident that occurred in October.
Sussex Police had previously charged Ricky Ryder, 38, and Jack Slowey, 34, with arson with intent to endanger life. The investigation into the mosque's arson was taken over by CTPSE in November.
Superintendent Rachel Swinney of Sussex Police stated that they are collaborating closely with CTPSE, utilizing specialist resources to investigate the arson. She acknowledged that the incident caused significant concern within the local community.
