Summary
- Babysitter arrested for endangering a toddler left in her care.
- Toddler found alone and shoeless in the middle of the road.
- Accused babysitter has prior conviction for infant's death.

A Pennsylvania mother, Arissa Ward, is facing new charges of felony child endangerment. The 32-year-old was allegedly babysitting a 2-year-old child on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, when the toddler was discovered wandering alone in the middle of a road in Windsor Borough, York County. The child was found without shoes and cold to the touch.
Authorities stated that Ward had fallen asleep, allowing the child to exit the residence. The boy's mother had dropped him off at Ward's home around 6:30 a.m., leaving the front door unlocked. She found Ward asleep and placed her son in bed with her.
This latest arrest comes after Ward was previously convicted of accidentally causing the death of her 2-month-old son in December 2016. She had been drinking and using marijuana before falling asleep on the couch next to the infant, leading to his asphyxiation. Despite a potential minimum sentence, she received two days in jail and house arrest.
Ward has since posted bail for the current endangerment charges and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 5, 2026.
