A 35-year-old Georgia mother, Shumeka Johnson, has been charged with reckless conduct following a serious incident on April 22nd.
Police allege Johnson permitted her 13-year-old daughter to operate a vehicle at the Brumby Elementary School drop-off lane. The 13-year-old was driving a Chrysler Pacifica with a 4-year-old boy and a 6-month-old girl inside when the car accelerated forward.
The vehicle struck Johnson, who was in front of it, and came to rest on top of her, causing serious injuries.
Authorities stated that Johnson's actions endangered the safety of her minor daughter, as there was no adult supervision inside the vehicle during the incident.
A warrant for Johnson's arrest was issued on June 3rd, and her bond has been set at $300. The Cobb Police Department continues to investigate the collision.
