E-Bikes Seized Tripling Speed Limit

Authorities have seized two e-bikes found to be significantly modified, allowing them to exceed legal speed limits by more than three times. E-bikes are legally restricted to 15.5mph (25km/h) with powered assistance. However, the seized bikes were reportedly capable of much higher speeds, solely powered by a throttle, which poses a significant danger, particularly on cycle paths.
