Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge, known for his role on My Kitchen Rules, has been charged with driving while cocaine was present in his system. The 52-year-old was stopped for a random drug and alcohol test on Malabar Road in South Maroubra, Sydney, on November 8. Preliminary and secondary tests allegedly returned positive for cocaine.
Fassnidge, who also appears on Better Homes and Gardens, is scheduled to appear before Waverley Court on January 28 to address the charges. This incident comes to light as the chef previously spoke about the demanding nature of the hospitality industry and maintaining work-life balance.
In past interviews, Fassnidge alluded to the pressures faced by chefs, describing the industry as challenging with high rates of burnout. He and his wife, Jane Hyland, married in 2006, have two daughters, Lily and Maeve.
