Summary
- Fourteen-year-old Munni Kumari disappeared on December 28, 2025.
- Extensive search operations are underway in dense forests and hilly terrain.
- Family suspects involvement of an organized gang in the disappearance.

A 14-year-old girl, Munni Kumari alias Ranu Kumari, remains missing since December 28, 2025, after she vanished from Gangpur village in Chatra district. She was last seen heading to a picnic with neighborhood children and never returned home. This disappearance has caused significant distress to her family and the local community.
The Giddhaur police station received a complaint on December 31, with the family alleging initial delays in effective action. Following public attention, authorities intensified search operations, deploying drone cameras and technical surveillance across the challenging forest and hilly landscapes. Multiple police and forest department teams are engaged in continuous, coordinated efforts.
Despite comprehensive searches covering areas from Pathalgadda to Katkamsandi in neighboring Hazaribag, no trace of Munni has been found. Her family, who have also searched nearby villages and contacted relatives, fear her disappearance could be linked to an organized gang, a concern echoed by local reports of similar incidents. Authorities have pledged to continue the search.
