The accused, living about 200 meters away, was detained and reportedly confessed to abducting and killing the child with a knife on August 16, 2020. He claims to have buried the body near the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, but pinpointing the exact location has been challenging due to the passage of time and the expressway's construction.
Police have been conducting extensive digging operations near the expressway since Thursday, but have yet to recover definitive remains, though some clothing items were found. The accused allegedly hid the body behind his house initially before moving it to the expressway site the following night.
