A man in St. Cloud, Minnesota, has been charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman during a five-day ordeal in December 2025. Marquell Steven Goree, 55, faces multiple charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping. The victim reported that Goree threatened her with an 8-inch switchblade when she tried to leave his home after agreeing to clean it for money.
She detailed being sexually assaulted multiple times while held captive. Goree allegedly kept knives nearby and threatened her life. The victim was eventually allowed to leave after claiming a probation appointment. Following her report on January 30, 2026, law enforcement searched Goree's home.
During the search, officers found the blue robe described by the victim, her Sorel boots, a switchblade, and additional knives. Goree admitted the victim had been at his house but claimed she was only there to buy boots and that she left to attend her appointment. He denied any sexual contact.
Authorities also noted a prior complaint against Goree from a roommate regarding unwanted guests. Goree was taken into custody on February 11, 2026, and remains in jail pending further proceedings.
