Police have registered an FIR against Anant Garje, the personal assistant of a state environment minister, on charges of abetment to suicide following his wife Gauri's death. Gauri, a dental surgeon, was found to have allegedly hanged herself at their residence.
Her father filed the complaint, alleging that Gauri endured mental and physical harassment after discovering her husband's extramarital affair, including a pregnancy consent form from another woman. The FIR also names Garje's brother and sister.
According to the complaint, Gauri confided in her parents about frequent arguments and alleged threats from her husband, who reportedly warned he would blame her if she spoke about his affair. The father reported noticing injuries on his daughter during a visit.
