Midnight Graveyard Raid Sparks Panic in Bakhtiyar Nagar

On the night of October 14, 2025, a chilling incident unfolded in Bakhtiyar Nagar village under the Malihabad police station limits in Lucknow. According to reports, unidentified persons allegedly tried to dig up the grave of a 15-year-old student, Anil Sahu, who had passed away in 2015 after a snakebite.

The incident occurred around 12:30 am when Anil's cousin, Deepu Sahu, was alerted by the barking of stray dogs. Upon stepping out, Deepu witnessed a group of men with spades digging near Anil's grave in the family's ancestral graveyard. Deepu immediately raised an alarm, causing the accused to flee the scene.

The Sahu family promptly informed the police control room, and a team from the Malihabad police station arrived at the spot to conduct an investigation. "Based on the complaint from the family, an investigation is underway. CCTV footage from the area is being scanned to identify the culprits," said the Malihabad SHO, Surendra Singh Bhati.

The police have increased patrolling in the area and are examining nearby surveillance cameras to trace the suspects. The incident has sparked panic among the residents of Bakhtiyar Nagar, who are concerned about the safety of their loved ones' final resting places.
