6 Jan
Summary
- Peyton Bilbia, 26, fatally stabbed at home on New Year's Eve.
- Ex-boyfriend Matthew Molinaro arrested and charged with murder.
- Victim's girlfriend had a protective order against the accused.

On New Year's Eve, 26-year-old Peyton Bilbia was found dead from a violent stabbing at his home in Milford, Michigan. The incident, which occurred approximately 40 miles northwest of Detroit, shattered the hope associated with the new year.
Investigators quickly identified and arrested 29-year-old Matthew Molinaro, the ex-boyfriend of Bilbia's current girlfriend, charging him with first-degree murder. Molinaro was apprehended in Royal Oak on the same night of the crime and is being held without bond. Police noted that the victim and attacker were known to each other, indicating the violence was not random.
Further details revealed that Bilbia's girlfriend had an active personal protective order against Molinaro. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald emphasized that this case serves as a stark reminder that domestic violence dangers can persist even after a relationship ends. Bilbia, remembered for his love of the outdoors and sports, is deeply mourned by his family.
