Gregory Keyier-Deniro Davis, 46, received a sentence of life in prison without parole on May 11, 2026, for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Annie Salem Namou Somo. The conviction, stemming from events on May 20, 2023, came after a jury found Davis guilty of eight charges in Oakland County Circuit Court.
Somo, 40, was fatally shot twice by Davis in the parking lot of the Legend Motors car dealership in Ferndale as she arrived for work. Their then-10-year-old daughter was present in Somo's vehicle during the attack. Davis used his car to block Somo's vehicle before exiting and firing a shotgun at her as she attempted to flee.
Prosecutors presented evidence that the daughter witnessed her father kill her mother. Following the shooting, Davis fired at onlookers before surrendering to authorities hours later. A family member described Somo as an incredible woman and mother, while the prosecutor emphasized the fight against intimate partner violence.
