17 Jun
Summary
- Two families are suing a plastic surgery clinic for alleged malpractice.
- A teen died after a rhinoplasty, and a mother of two died during a mommy makeover.
- The clinic allegedly failed to treat complications and previously changed its name.

Two families have initiated legal proceedings against Svelta Plastic Surgery in Miami, alleging that their loved ones died due to alleged medical malpractice at the facility. The lawsuits stem from the deaths of 19-year-old Endrys Elian Martinez and 35-year-old Kenly Millan Aponte.
Martinez, who traveled from Tennessee for a rhinoplasty, was declared brain dead following complications related to anesthesia, with his death occurring on May 26. Aponte, a mother of two from Kentucky, died during a "mommy makeover" procedure. Reports indicate she experienced breathing issues and was found in cardiac arrest upon paramedics' arrival at the clinic.
Attorneys for the families accuse the clinic of gross medical malpractice and an inability to manage critical complications. They highlight that the clinic previously operated under the name Seduction Cosmetic Surgery before rebranding earlier this year. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office confirmed both deaths, with the cause and manner of Aponte's death pending.
In response, Svelta Plastic Surgery expressed condolences to the families and stated that the current reports do not fully reflect the facts. The clinic asserted its commitment to patient safety, its cooperation with authorities, and its intention to conduct its own analysis to understand the events, asking for judgment to be reserved until all facts are reviewed.
