Meredith Kelce Shares Heartbreak After Husband's Death

Meredith Kelce recently shared the profound grief and disbelief surrounding the death of her husband, Johnny, on the "Not Gonna Lie" podcast.

She recounted the devastating night in August 2024 when she learned of the fatal biking accident that claimed the lives of both Johnny and his brother, Matthew Gaudreau. The news was delivered by Johnny's uncle, whose expression conveyed the tragedy before words were even spoken.

Meredith described her initial confusion, believing the incident only involved Matthew, and her efforts to reach Johnny, who didn't have his phone. The realization that the accident was far more severe than anticipated hit her "like a ton of bricks."

Nearly two years later, in March 2026, Meredith still finds the loss surreal, describing it as something that "can't stop playing in my head." The couple, married in September 2021, had welcomed two children and were expecting their third when Johnny died. Their youngest son, Carter, was born in April 2025.

Sean M. Higgins faces charges including aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide in connection with the accident. A hearing is scheduled for April 14, where he will seek the dismissal of some charges.
