Mentally Disturbed Man Confesses to Brutal Family Murders in India

On the night of November 9, 2025, a shocking incident unfolded in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, a 37-year-old man named Gunupudi Srinivas allegedly murdered his 60-year-old mother Mahalakshmi and 33-year-old brother Raviteja at their home between 1 am and 3 am.
Around 4:30 am on November 10, 2025, Srinivas dialed the emergency helpline 112 and confessed to the killings. He then asked for instructions on how to surrender to the authorities. Police quickly responded to the scene and took Srinivas into custody.
During the initial investigation, officials revealed that Srinivas had been mentally disturbed since the death of his father during the Covid-19 pandemic. The West Godavari Superintendent of Police, Adnan Nayeem Asmi, along with other senior officers, visited the crime scene and directed a thorough inquiry into the incident.
Srinivas' sister, who lives in Bengaluru, is reportedly on her way to Bhimavaram. A case will be registered based on her complaint, and further investigation is ongoing.
