12 Feb
Summary
- Two men arrested for damaging multiple mailboxes with a screwdriver.
- Suspects claimed they lost their key and were trying to access mail.
- Security identified the suspects, who were found with a ski mask and tool.

Atlanta police apprehended two men, Marvin Jacobs and Sanchez McDowell, on suspicion of vandalizing mailboxes. The suspects stated they were attempting to retrieve their mail using a screwdriver, as they had misplaced their mailbox key. However, this explanation was challenged when law enforcement observed damage to more than one mailbox. Security officers at the apartment complex on Delowe Drive positively identified Jacobs and McDowell as the individuals involved. They reported seeing the men, one wearing a ski mask, exit a white Kia Forte and proceed to damage several mailboxes with a long screwdriver.
Investigators subsequently found a screwdriver and a ski mask in the suspects' vehicle, corroborating the security officer's account. Both men were taken into custody and face charges including property damage and possession of tools used for committing a crime. They are currently being held at the Fulton County Jail.
