A statewide Blue Alert is currently in effect for Danell Maxwell, a 40-year-old man sought in connection with the attempted murder of a Memphis police officer. The incident occurred Thursday night around 8 p.m. in the Parkway Village neighborhood of Memphis.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the alert shortly after midnight Friday. Maxwell is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, and was reportedly wearing dark clothing and an orange/green reflective vest when last seen.
Authorities have classified Maxwell as armed and dangerous. The TBI and Memphis Police Department are actively seeking information that could lead to his apprehension.
