An incident at Brentwood Park Primary School in Berwick, Melbourne, has led to an 11-year-old boy being questioned by police. The alleged stabbing occurred on Thursday morning, resulting in an eight-year-old boy sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics treated the injured student at the scene, and he did not require hospitalisation. A woman also received treatment for minor injuries at the location.
The school, along with nearby Kambrya College, was placed under lockdown for approximately 90 minutes as authorities responded. Many parents arrived to collect their children even into the afternoon. This event has raised concerns, particularly as it follows several other recent school lockdowns in the Melbourne area attributed to alleged knife-related incidents.
