6 Apr
Summary
- Three men died after consuming alcohol from a single bottle.
- Police investigation revealed a murder plot, not accidental poisoning.
- Two individuals arrested for allegedly conspiring and executing the murder.

Three men in Meerut have tragically died after consuming alcohol from a single bottle purchased on Friday evening. The victims, identified as Baburam, Jitendra, and Ankit, fell ill shortly after drinking and were rushed to a hospital. Two of them, Jitendra and Ankit, were pronounced dead at the hospital, while Baburam succumbed to his condition during treatment.
Initial police investigations did not immediately confirm whether the liquor was toxic or expired. However, a deeper probe involving CCTV analysis and local inquiries revealed a calculated murder plot. The incident is now being treated as a murder executed through a conspiracy.
Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the deaths: Alka, Pawan Ahlawat, and Ashok Verma. Preliminary findings suggest Pawan Ahlawat procured a poisonous chemical and mixed it into a liquor pouch, which was then given to the deceased Ankit. Jitendra and Baburam also consumed liquor from the same bottle, leading to their deaths.
The motive appears to stem from a personal dispute. Pawan Ahlawat reportedly had a relationship with Ankit's sister, Alka. Alka was allegedly distressed by her brother's alcohol addiction and behavior, leading to the plan to eliminate him. Investigations are continuing.
