21 Feb
Summary
- Six rings valued between $350 and $400 were stolen from a market stall.
- CCTV footage shows two women allegedly distracting the owner and stealing.
- The owner plans to report the incident to police and shared footage online.

A small business owner at the Eumundi Markets on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has reported the alleged theft of six rings from her stall. The jewelry, valued between $350 and $400, was taken by two young women who reportedly spent time at the stall before leaving without purchase.
CCTV footage obtained by the owner, Jess Adelman, appears to show one woman distracting her while the other allegedly concealed several rings in her bag. Ms. Adelman stated that the women also purportedly targeted other market stall holders that day. Security reportedly confronted the individuals in the car park, where they allegedly admitted to stealing two rings.
Ms. Adelman has shared the CCTV footage online to warn other small business operators. She plans to file a police report next week. The incident underscores the vulnerability of small vendors operating in market environments, with Ms. Adelman noting that many sellers have been discouraged from participating due to recurring petty theft.
