Deonte Shields, a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case, was arrested on Monday, February 18, 2026. South Fulton police had received information on February 16th regarding Shields' whereabouts at Camelot Condominiums.
Authorities stated Shields was sought on multiple warrants, including aggravated assault with intent to murder. When officers attempted to make contact, he escaped in a stolen Ford F-150, initiating a police chase that ultimately led to his capture.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Shields faced outstanding warrants from Clayton County Sheriff's Office for probation violation and obstruction, and from College Park Police Department for theft by shoplifting. He is also a registered sex offender.
