In a shocking turn of events, the principal district and sessions court judge in Buxar, India has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the murder of his neighbor over a dispute. The incident took place in June 2023 at Kesath village under Nawanagar police station.
According to the court's ruling, the convict, Kranti Turha, was found guilty under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for the murder. Additionally, the court also awarded three years of rigorous imprisonment to three co-accused - Savitri Devi, Turha's mother, his wife Ruby Devi, and Gudiya Devi, a relative - under Sections 324 and 149 IPC, along with a fine of Rs 3,000 each.
The tragic incident occurred when the victim, Rita Devi, mother of the complainant Krishna Turha, was attacked during a street dispute at Kesath village. She suffered a severe head injury, lost consciousness at the spot, and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The police thoroughly investigated the case and presented around 15 witnesses before the court, leading to the convictions.
