A disturbing incident unfolded in Proddatur town, Andhra Pradesh, where a man, Bhadripalli Kiran, is accused of poisoning his wife, Bhadripalli Padmaja, to death. The couple's marriage was reportedly strained, with Kiran allegedly unhappy about his wife's weight and diet. His discontent intensified after he began an extramarital affair approximately one year ago.
Seeking a way to eliminate his wife undetected, Kiran reportedly turned to social media. He allegedly contacted a YouTuber and purchased a poisonous substance for Rs 80,000. On the night of April 29-30, he is said to have administered the poison through sweets.
When the initial poisoning attempt did not immediately kill Padmaja, Kiran allegedly resorted to suffocation with a pillow in the early hours of April 30. He initially tried to stage the death as an accident. However, a postmortem examination revealed the presence of a poisonous substance, prompting an investigation.
Following a complaint from Padmaja's father, police apprehended Kiran, who confessed to the murder. Investigators have ruled out the involvement of Kiran's lover but are now focused on apprehending the YouTuber who allegedly sold the poison and has since gone underground.
