A man, missing for nearly two years, has been rescued from a cattle shelter in Ludhiana's Sahnewal area. The 30-year-old victim, who is specially-abled and reportedly mentally challenged, had disappeared from his home approximately two years ago. Instead of reporting his disappearance, cattle rearers allegedly held him captive at their shelter.
He was reportedly forced to perform daily chores, including cleaning and collecting dung, for the duration of his confinement. The confined man's ordeal came to light when members of a charitable organization successfully traced him to the cattle shelter. Following the rescue, the organization alerted the authorities.
Police have registered an FIR against three individuals: Bholu Khan and his sons Rehmat Ali and Sadiq Khan, all residents of Tibba village. They have been booked under sections related to wrongful confinement and common intention. Authorities are currently searching for the accused.
