A shocking incident unfolded in Vaishali, India, where Sahil Patel, arrested for the alleged murder of his pregnant sister-in-law Radha Kumari, attempted suicide within police custody on Sunday. Patel is currently receiving medical treatment in Patna.
Kumari's body was discovered at her home on April 11. Investigators believe Patel attempted to rape her and subsequently strangled her when she resisted. He had reportedly confessed to the crime before his arrest.
Following his apprehension, Patel ingested poison at the police station and was immediately hospitalized. He has since been referred to a Patna hospital, where his condition is reported as stable.
Family members stated that Patel allegedly attacked Kumari when she was alone at home. The family found her body in the courtyard.
