The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on a Monday, just two weeks after the family had relocated from Des Moines, Iowa.
Home surveillance video captured a man emerging from a blue car, approaching the residence, and opening fire on Mr. Senase. The suspect then fled the scene in the same vehicle. Police are currently searching for the perpetrator.
Mr. Senase's wife, Chelsea Senase, expressed profound grief and a desperate need for answers, stating, "We just want to know why. At least give my children some type of closure." The family's move to Chicago was intended to improve their lives and provide opportunities for their two sons and daughter.
The tragedy is compounded by Chelsea Senase's recent diagnosis of leukemia. She voiced concerns about her children's future, fearing what might happen if her health deteriorates, leaving them without support. Mr. Senase was studying at the Illinois Media School with aspirations of becoming an audio engineer.
