Bangor Attack: Man Found Dead After Violent Home Invasion

Authorities have identified the man whose body was discovered in County Down on Saturday as 54-year-old Jonathan Baker. His remains were found by police officers who were actively investigating an attempted murder that occurred on December 24th in Bangor. Mr. Baker had previously been named as a suspect in this incident.

The violent event took place on Chippendale Avenue when an individual, reportedly armed with a knife and a hammer, forcefully entered a residence. The assault resulted in serious injuries to a man in his twenties and a woman in her fifties. Both victims received medical treatment and have since been released from the hospital.

As the investigation into the attempted murders continues, police have confirmed they are not seeking any further individuals in connection with the case. Local councilor Wesley Irvine described the incident as highly unusual for the typically peaceful residential area and urged anyone with relevant doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward and assist the inquiry.
