In a remote wooded area near Lanett, Alabama, the bodies of Jessica Folds and Daniel Robbins were discovered on June 10, 2026. Autopsies revealed that Folds died of strangulation, while Robbins suffered a fatal heart attack.
Authorities believe Robbins, Folds' boyfriend, was attempting to dispose of her body in the woods when he died. Evidence at the scene included signs of the body being dragged from Robbins' truck, which was found running with its tailgate lowered.
Investigators suspect Folds was killed elsewhere before her body was transported to the location where they were both found. Folds, originally from Lanett, was remembered for her kindness and bright spirit. Robbins' obituary has since been removed.
