Summary
- A 25-year-old man died from irreversible brain injury.
- He was found near the Great Yarmouth seaside pier.
- The assistant coroner ruled the death a suicide.

A 25-year-old man, identified as Cristi Hurmuzache, has died from an irreversible brain injury following a discovery near the Great Yarmouth seaside pier on June 22. A teenager found Mr. Hurmuzache approximately 15 meters from the shoreline, prompting an immediate call for help. Emergency services arrived and began CPR, later confirming he had no immediate family in the UK. Mr. Hurmuzache, originally from Onești, Romania, had moved to the UK alone several years prior. He was taken to a hospital in Gorleston, where he remained in an induced coma due to profound neurological impairment. Medical examinations on June 25 confirmed brain stem death, leading to the withdrawal of life support. The assistant coroner's inquest concluded that Mr. Hurmuzache's injuries resulted from self-ligature and that his actions indicated suicide, with no third-party involvement suspected.
