22 Jul
Summary
- A man denied murdering a 31-year-old father-of-two.
- The victim died five days after an assault in Strabane.
- The accused's trial is delayed pending a medical report.

Dylan McCrossan, aged 33, has denied the murder of a 31-year-old father-of-two. The victim, Stephen Holmes, died in Altnagelvin Hospital five days after an assault that occurred at a house in Strabane, County Tyrone in February 2025. McCrossan entered his plea at Belfast Crown Court.
McCrossan's trial is currently postponed. His defence barrister informed the court that a medical report is being compiled, but its completion is delayed as the doctor needs to examine the accused's previous criminal record. The defence anticipates receiving the report within weeks.
Following the review of the defence's medical report, the prosecution stated it might need to instruct its own medical expert. Consequently, the judge determined it was premature to set a trial date and scheduled a case review for September 18.
