Man Burns Partner's Body, Dumps Ashes in River

In Jhansi, a retired railway employee, Ram Singh Parihar, is alleged to have murdered his live-in partner, Preeti, over financial disputes. Following the crime, which police believe occurred around January 8, Parihar reportedly burned Preeti's body and collected the ashes in sacks, which he then disposed of in a river. He attempted to conceal the remaining evidence by transporting the trunk containing charred remains to his second wife's house.

The grim discovery was made possible by the vigilance of a loader driver, Jaysingh Pal, who grew suspicious of the trunk's contents and the behavior of those accompanying it. Pal alerted the police control room, leading to the police forcing open the trunk and finding human skeletal remains and burnt material. The police have registered a case based on a complaint from the victim's former husband.

Authorities have detained Parihar's son and another accomplice, while the main accused remains at large. Neighbors reported noticing Parihar collecting firewood and a strange smell in the days leading up to the discovery. The forensic team has collected the alleged remains for further investigation.
