Elderly Man Beaten Unconscious in Unprovoked Attack

An elderly man in his late 60s sustained severe injuries, including a broken nose and hand, after being beaten unconscious with sticks and wood. The unprovoked assault took place on Sunday evening around 18:00 GMT on Shakespeare Road in Lancaster.
The victim was disturbed by a group of young people laughing by his car. When he went outside, he was attacked by the group wielding weapons. He was knocked unconscious and suffered multiple injuries, including a missing tooth.
Lancashire Police have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators. Detective Inspector Ian Zanelli described the assault as completely unprovoked and urged anyone with information to come forward to assist officers in their efforts.
