Man Pursues Girlfriend to Police Lobby, Abducts Children

A man identified as Branch Stamper was arrested after a violent domestic dispute escalated dramatically. Stamper pursued his girlfriend into the Lake City police lobby, where he reportedly knocked her down, grabbed her neck, and took her phone. He then fled the scene in her vehicle, with her two children still inside. Authorities initiated a search, utilizing license-plate reader technology and the victim's cell phone data to track the vehicle. The children were safely recovered when Stamper was apprehended without incident. The Department of Children and Families has been notified and has commenced an investigation. Police noted the victim sustained visible injuries but declined medical treatment.
