4 Jan
Summary
- Four hospital directors were nominated in the FIR after bodies were swapped.
- A family cremated the wrong body due to alleged hospital negligence.
- Hospital authorities are accused of refusing CCTV footage to conceal evidence.

In Ludhiana, a serious case of swapped bodies at a private hospital has escalated, with police now nominating four doctors, who also serve as the hospital's directors, in the FIR. This action follows an initial report against unidentified hospital staff.
The investigation centers on an incident where the bodies of Jasbir Kaur and Manju Diwan were allegedly exchanged. Consequently, Manju Diwan's family cremated the body they received, unaware it was Jasbir Kaur's. Jasbir's family later received the wrong body, and by the time the error was discovered, the Diwan family had already performed the cremation.
Complainants allege institutional failure and significant medical and administrative negligence, stating that decisions regarding patient care, safety, and post-death handling require management approval. The refusal to provide CCTV footage further fuels accusations of evidence tampering, positioning the directors as principal accused.
