Lucknow Temple Thieves Nabbed After Night Raids

Three individuals have been apprehended in Lucknow by police in connection with the theft of cash and ornaments from two local temples. The arrested men, identified as Rizwan, Mohammad Adil, and Vijay Maurya, admitted to targeting the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple and the Peepaleshwar Mahadev Temple. They reportedly scouted the locations during the day and executed the thefts at night, after disabling the security cameras by removing the DVRs.
During their interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing a silver crown and canopy from the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple, as well as money and other ornaments from the Peepaleshwar Mahadev Temple. Police reported the recovery of Rs 34,000 in cash and 196 grams of white metal from the suspects. Additionally, several tools used in the commission of the crimes and a stolen motorcycle were seized.
Rizwan, one of the arrested suspects, has an extensive criminal record with 13 cases registered against him in Bahraich and Lucknow. These prior cases include charges related to theft, drug offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and violations of the Gangsters Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the group's activities and identify any other potential accomplices.
