Lucknow Police Bust Cunning All-Women Theft Gang

In a surprising revelation of criminal ingenuity, the Lucknow Police have busted a 6-member all-women gang that used a peculiar tactic to steal gold ornaments from fellow female passengers. The accused women, hailing from Chandauli, Mau, and Ghazipur, would work in close coordination to execute their plan.

During a ride, one of the gang members would engage the target in conversation, while another would pretend to feel nauseous and begin "vomiting" into a dupatta or polythene bag. This deliberate act was meant to disgust and distract co-passengers. As other riders turned away or tried to help, the third woman would swiftly unhook the victim's chain or mangalsutra, passing it to another gang member who concealed it. The group would then hurriedly get off at the next stop, feigning embarrassment and sickness, disappearing before the victim realized the theft.

The Lucknow Police, acting on CCTV footage and inputs from informants, have arrested the six women - Jyoti, Mala, Archana, Neetu, Lakshmi, and Vandana. The team has recovered three gold chains, one gold locket threaded in a black pearl necklace, and Rs 13,000 in cash from their possession. The accused are being interrogated for similar thefts in Lucknow, Mau, and Chandauli, and the police believe they are part of a larger network operating across Uttar Pradesh.
